If so, a role on the Splunk Security UEBA team could be a great fit for you.
We have a unique career opportunity for outstanding engineering leaders like you. You'll be on the frontlines of information security, building products to help connect the network of enterprise security operators facing off against the most sophisticated attackers in the world.
We are seeking a technical leader to help deliver Splunk's Security’s User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) solution. UEBA is a risk management solution that leverages ML/AI algorithms and behavior analytics to provide comprehensive user and entity insights. By delving into these insights, security teams can identify anomalies and take measures to mitigate potential impacts.

About the User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) Team

We are a passionate team who cares deeply about our customers, our teammates and you. In this role, you will work directly with product management, our design team, our customers and other engineering teams. We have a lean process that focuses on empowering and serving our engineers as opposed to just directing them.
Our team develops software in Python and React and uses modern technologies like Docker, GitLab CI/CD, AWS and many more.
Our Engineering Team operates in the following timezones: Central European Time, Eastern Time, Central Time and Pacific Time. Our team is fully distributed and we welcome English speakers within those timezones.

  • Own and be accountable for the design, development and operation of new product features.
  • Lead team design and architectural discussions.
  • Build reliable, scalable, and high-performance applications.
  • Debug and resolve customer-reported issues, delivering effective solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational activities to ensure service reliability.
  • Learn, explore, and integrate new technologies into the team’s workflow.
  • Mentor junior members of the team with an eye toward their future career growth.

Must-have Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
  • Proven experience building and architecting web applications, services, and APIs.
  • Experience with technologies in our stack: Poetry, Pytest, Cypress etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, container technologies.
  • Proficiency in application monitoring, log management, metrics/telemetry processing, and alerting tools.
  • Experience with an Agile DevOps engineering environment that effectively uses CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal direction, a sense of intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability, and positivity.
  • Eight years of related experience with a technical Bachelor’s degree, or six years and a technical Master’s degree

Nice to have:

  • cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
This role comes with the on-call shift schedule, up to 20% of time.
