Role Summary
The Splunk Global Security Organization is seeking a Security Training Project Manager, working with the Director of Communications, Training, & Awareness to help lead the security training program within Splunk!
 
Meet the Global Security Team
Our SGS organization is led by Splunk’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The team's purpose is to deliver a comprehensive set of services to successfully defend and protect Splunk and its customers. The Communications, Training and Awareness (CTA) Team within the SGS organization consists of three functions - communications, security-related training, and awareness.  Responsibilities
  • Create internal training campaign material to promote cybersecurity best practices across the Splunk organization
  • Build, and report on training metrics, report on program efficiency, and establish key performance indicators that can be reported on and shared with leadership
  • Collaborate with our security trust team and our security SMEs to align training with organizational policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO 27001), and security industry best practices
  • Maintain a training calendar of all required training within Splunk to ensure annual compliance is met within expected audit cycle timeframes
  • Support internal and external audit interviews and evidence requests
  • Manage future phishing simulations and other behaviour-based training tools to assess and improve employee security practices
  • Lead internal training program for Splunk Global Security team, including managing a training roadmap, external vendor selection, purchase request and budget management and supporting the request approval process
Must-have Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability post bachelor (Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field) of at least 3 years in security training and awareness
  • Proven track record of managing a security awareness program, ideally in an engineering/software development-focused business or organization
  • Track record managing training compliance requirements, including audit requirements, and building them into a security program
  • External audit knowledge and experience: ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA
  • Strong communications skills: Google slides/PPoint, presentation experience

  • Background in global or matrixed organizations, with experience coordinating teams across regions and time zones
  • Cybersecurity or security training certification: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSAP, or similar cybersecurity industry certification
  • Exposure to Splunk products (e.g., Enterprise, SOAR, or Splunk Cloud)
