Product Manager - Infrastructure Monitoring, Splunk Observability

As a Product Manager on the Observability team at Splunk, you will work in an entrepreneurial, cross-functional and collaborative environment, working with engineering, design, marketing and sales counterparts to define and drive key functionalities within our Observability products.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to help bring our industry leading Observability solutions to a new level. You will work closely with your peers in product, engineering, design, and GTM team to prioritize and drive a roadmap of innovative capabilities around our Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring product.
This position requires understanding users’ needs and workflows, instincts and creativity to ideate and implement new user journeys, and technical expertise. Knowledge of development will enable you to produce clear product requirements and navigate the technical complexity of our monitoring products and development processes.
This position will be based in the Bangalore, India office and will need to work with our distributed team across the Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, India, Poland, and RTP offices in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end product life cycle, including understanding customer and user needs, translating and communicating those needs crisply through a prioritized roadmap, and collaborating with design and engineering teams to deliver a compelling product experience
  • Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition and technologies are evolving, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product strategy
  • Collaborate with product marketing, support and the sales team to drive GTM efforts and solve for business limiters within your control and pursue key business accelerants

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of total experience with 2 years of experience in product management or cloud administrator, or SRE roles
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MBA a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize requirements across conflicting dimensions and to be clear on the minimum capabilities that matter
  • Able to independently identify significant opportunities in an ambiguous area and build consensus around roadmaps
  • A passion for customer journey, user experience, usability and a knack for simplicity; willing and able to dive deep into technical requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead, collaborate and influence via persuasion, patience and energy
  • Experience with Cloud Provider platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP etc.
  • Domain awareness and familiarity on Cloud provider services incl but not limited to - compute, storage, database, serverless, message queues, distributed cache, distributed databases
  • Comfortable with deploying simple examples for demonstration of product capabilities and/or in support of marketing activities.
  • Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills. Ability to identify patterns and synthesize disparate data into a coherent whole
  • Experience with developing software, understanding engineering tradeoffs, and an intuition for the needs of the developers and operators who use our products
  • Willing to go above and beyond to get quality products and features to market on time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in enterprise SaaS; bonus if those were infrastructure monitoring or analytics related
  • Expertise in Cloud Technologies, SRE, Kubernetes etc. Otel familiarity is a plus
  • Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle, experience with Agile software methodologies
