About this Role:
This is a Senior / Lead role where you'll get to come to the rescue and be the hero, diagnosing complex Environmental and Java application bottlenecks within the AppDynamics SaaS Platform and customer environments. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to AppDynamics Sales, Product, Support, Engineering teams, and customers, sharing best practices for sizing and configuring systems that power AppDynamics platform components. You'll innovate by finding opportunities for automation along with developing/ enhancing software tools to streamline and accelerate issue resolution (using AI) within the AppDynamics platform.
 
About You:
You:
  • Are an Engineer with a 12+ years of experience and a passion for solving difficult problems with customer-focused approach.
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills enabling you to connect effectively with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Can analyze memory and thread dumps to locate potential application bottlenecks, then read source code to pinpoint the problem and recommend a solution.
  • Have full-stack expertise, able to diagnose issues at all layers OS, Network, Managed Service, or Application layers.
  • Are comfortable writing and quickly absorbing/understanding Java code, and can craft and interpret SQL queries with ease.
  • Possess a good understanding of Linux Internals, IPC (Inter-Process Communication) Multi-Threading, Socket programming, GDB debugging, and OOP Design.
  • Have experience with cloud-native application development and deployment using AWS (or equivalent) Cloud Environment with working knowledge of Docker, Containers, Kubernetes.
  • Have experience in Linux OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (with a preference for RHEL or CentOS expertise).
  • Are adept at quickly navigating and extracting insights from Unix/Linux "man" pages
It’s a Significant Advantage If You Have:
  • Understanding of JVM internals: GC algorithms, performance tuning for highly loaded applications, heap usage analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Data Structure, Data algorithms and Concurrent Programming.
  • Hands-on experience in ingesting, processing, storing, analyzing, caching and serving web-scale data; IE exposure to relevant technologies in this space such as Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, NoSql, Redis, Containers, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with hypervisors like VirtualBox, Parallels, or VMWare Workstation/Fusion and bash shell scripting is second nature to you.
  • Proficiency with Java TLS implementations and the keytool utility
  • Experience troubleshooting PKI issues, including TLS server and client configurations
  • Skills in MySQL database server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Have strong network troubleshooting capabilities, including proficiency with tools like tcpdump and Wireshark
  • Experience with ZFS setup and administration
  • Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build systems
  • The ability to write and troubleshoot CMake build configurations
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role, showcasing your ability to engage with people
  • Working knowledge of Cloud infrastructure plumbing like Kubernetes and AWS
