Role:

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the development and launch of a cutting-edge product offering that integrates Cisco infrastructure hardware and Splunk software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both infrastructure hardware administration and software deployment lifecycle management, coupled with proven expertise in product strategy, development, and go-to-market execution. In this role, you will define the vision, roadmap, and delivery strategy for this joint offering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring the product to market successfully.

This is an opportunity to deliver impact across Splunk and Cisco integrated product roadmap and lead transformative initiatives in collaboration with engineering, UX, and operations teams. You’ll thrive here if you love solving complex problems, delivering measurable outcomes, and shaping the future of platform lifecycle management. Come join us!

This role will be reporting to the Director of Splunk Product Management and working alongside several Cisco and Splunk Product Managers.

What you'll get to do:

  • Product Strategy and Vision:
  • Define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the joint Cisco and Splunk offerings
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to identify key opportunities and use cases.
  • Translate customer needs and business goals into product requirements and strategic priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with Cisco infrastructure hardware teams and Splunk software teams to design and deliver a cohesive, integrated solution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Leverage deep knowledge of infrastructure hardware administration (e.g., servers, networking, storage) and software deployment lifecycle management to guide product decisions.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Cisco hardware and Splunk software, prioritizing performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Provide guidance on hardware-software interoperability and configurations to meet customer requirements.
  • Product Development and Delivery:
  • Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to oversee development, testing, and release cycles.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the on-time delivery of a high-quality product.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy:
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to build a robust go-to-market plan.
  • Develop training materials, sales enablement tools, and customer-facing resources to drive adoption
  • Customer Advocacy:
  • Engage with customers and key partners to gather insights, validate use cases, and incorporate feedback into the product roadmap.
  • Serve as the product’s advocate and evangelist, representing its value proposition both internally and externally.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance post-launch to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of complex, technical products
  • Experience in managing full product lifecycles, from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Experience working with system administrator personas, designing solutions for health monitoring, troubleshooting, and distributed environments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience driving alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical details into business value.
  • A data-driven approach to prioritization and operational excellence.
  • Typically requires a minimum 10+ years of experience in product management with a focus on software solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

Bonus Qualities We’d Love to See:
