Engineering Manager – Cloud Operations Automation

Location: Kraków, Poland (Hybrid Remote)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Splunk is seeking an expert Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Operations Automation team. This team is pivotal in automating our cloud infrastructure, supporting scalability, reliability, and efficiency across our services. As an Engineering Manager, you'll drive the development of automation tools and processes that improve our cloud operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers passionate about cloud operations automation, encouraging a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Automation Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management, reducing manual interventions and improving system reliability.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify automation opportunities and integrate solutions seamlessly into existing workflows.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve operational processes, implementing practices to optimize performance and scalability.
Compliance & Security: Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to ensure automation solutions enforce to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated ability in software engineering, with a focus on cloud operations and automation.
2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, ideally in building automation and tools for large, sophisticated systems - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Scripting skills in languages such as Python, or Go.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Argo Workflows.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab CI/CD.
Understanding of security processes in cloud environments.
Experience working in agile development environments.
