What does the license metric “Flow Model” mean?
A “Flow Model” refers to a managed unit of work that consists of the unified stream of event logs aggregated through correlation across IDs. A Flow Model is measured through the initial definition and setup before derivative process flows can be generated.
There are two types: "Shared" Flow Models are for production use and counts towards license usage. "Private" Flow Models do not count towards license usage. Private Flow Models are used for testing, configuration and preview of Shared Flow Models.
Do I get a volume discount if I buy a larger Splunk Business Flow license?
Yes. Splunk Business Flow pricing has built-in volume discounts. You pay based on the number of flow models you would like to license.
