Role summary:

We are looking for an experienced product marketing leader to drive the Splunk Security GTM strategy and vision. In this role, you will manage a team of product marketing professionals to cultivate business relationships with stakeholders in Product Management, Technical Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, Campaign Demand Generation Marketing and Sales. You and your team will provide the content needed to launch new solutions and grow customer adoption, create sales enablement tools, and provide input on product/solution roadmap and go-to-market plans as well as take a lead role in engaging with Industry Analysts. Paramount to this role is being a seasoned enterprise software product/solutions marketing professional with strong expertise within IT Security, ideally within technologies that align to Security Analytics, security operations, orchestration and automation as well as incident response and threat intelligence.

 

What you will get to do:
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high performing product marketing team focused on accelerating go-to-market efforts to drive continued growth through messaging, positioning, storytelling, and competitive insights.
  • Develop effective messaging that reflects the strategic value of the Splunk platform through differentiation.
  • Lead, coordinate, and work with marketing, product management, customer success, professional services, enablement, and sales teams to execute product launches that highlight new innovations and drive demand and adoption.
  • Drive strategic market and competitive strategy and messaging, value propositions and use cases (return on investment) to increase competitive differentiation and enable the field and partners. Work closely with field sales, demand generation, marketing and others on messaging and target marketing.
  • Develop and implement integrated-marketing strategies and campaigns across multiple products, verticals, partners, and practitioner/economic decision-maker personas.
  • Own marketing content strategy for website, collateral, press releases, media and industry analyst briefings, trade shows, sales and channel training, online marketing, etc.
  • Define market strategy and drive marketing efforts for building market awareness and demand generation in support of the Splunk Security solution portfolio.
  • Identify and represent the company at various speaking engagements, conferences, press interviews, industry analyst briefings, etc.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of product marketing experience applied strong subject matter expertise across technology solutions encompassing SIEM, SOAR, User Behavior Analytics, Threat Intelligence.
  • 10+ years of experience managing people.
  • Demonstrated experience executing product launches and leading large teams through complex marketing operations.
  • Experience and familiarity marketing to both IT and business leaders; ability to effectively communicate with partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Compelling storyteller, ability to communicate complex technology in a crisp and simple way.
  • You are a self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced software start-up environment.
  • Travel required to industry conferences, customer visits, sales meetings and other places both U.S. and international average of 30%
  • Bachelor of Business, Science or Engineering; MBA is a plus.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $234,400.00 - 322,300.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $211,200.00 - 290,400.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $190,400.00 - 261,800.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
