Senior Product Manager - OSS Tools, Processes and Community Enablement

About the Role

Splunk's GDI (Getting Data In) team is responsible for building products, tools, and technologies used by thousands of Splunk customers to bring data from a large number of systems and products into Splunk. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join a PM team based in Krakow, working with engineering teams on building integrations required for getting data into Splunk.

As one of the Product Managers at GDI, you will take full ownership of some of Splunk’s Technical Add-ons and Connectors, that help to integrate various 3rd party data sources with Splunk. You will be involved at every part of building the product, from identifying market opportunities, through working with the engineering team and finally looking at metrics to improve the next product iteration. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for open source data integration solutions, recognizing their crucial role in Splunk's ecosystem
  • Focus on crafting an exceptional experience for customers utilizing open source tools for data collection, aiming to streamline the process while maintaining flexibility in the ingestion architecture
  • Make the products better, by actively soliciting feedback from all groups, introducing new ways to measure value we deliver and act upon those metrics
  • Work with open source developer communities and understand what motivates them to contribute to open source systems
  • Understand customer and user needs in-depth; communicate those needs crisply and succinctly; and work with design and distributed engineering teams to translate those needs into clear priorities, a compelling roadmap, and high-impact, innovative features
  • Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition, and technologies as they change, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product direction
  • Collaborate with engineering, other PMs, product marketing, support, and the sales team to solve for business limiters within your control and pursue key business accelerants

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or technical product management role
  • Proven background in enterprise software; bonus if those were data management monitoring, log management or analytics products
  • Deep understanding of the open source ecosystem and its role in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize requirements across conflicting dimensions and to be clear on the minimum capabilities that matter
  • Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills. Ability to identify patterns and synthesize disparate data into a coherent whole
  • Strong written and verbal organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to lead and influence via persuasion, patience, and energy
  • A passion for usability and a knack for simplicity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field. Or equivalent practical experience
  • Active participation in open source projects and familiarity with open source communities and licenses
  • Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle, experience with Agile software methodologies

Note: 

Base Pay Range 

Poland 

Base Pay: PLN 196,000.00 - 269,500.00 per year 

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
