Software Engineer C++

  • - Hybrid Remote

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for experienced C++ Software Engineers to join the Splunk compliance engineering team. Splunk customers often have specific safety and security requirements to their IT systems, and Splunk products functionality often helps here. At the same time Splunk products itself have to adhere to the same security and safety requirements. The compliance engineering team’s role is to help build Splunk in accordance with those requirements. The responsibility is front to back - starting from analyzing and understanding the requirements, through coming up with the best solution, coding, building, testing and finally deploying / releasing. The variety of Splunk deployment modes, as well as technologies used across the board, offers great experience and allows to broaden horizons. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with outstanding teams, tackle exciting problems, grow your skills and help drive the growth of Splunk!

Experience Required

  • Very good coding skills in C++.
  • Understanding of security concepts and secure coding techniques.
  • Knowledge of Linux OS from user and/or admin perspective.
  • Debugging and problem solving skills: diagnose memory leaks, business logic and performance issues. Including the use of associated tools for Linux and/or Windows.
  • Attention to details and good test coverage.
  • Ability to document your work for the benefit of the team.
  • Operational excellence: you think beyond feature delivery into how your code is serving customers in production.

Nice to Have

  • Former experience of working in the security related areas (identity, access, data protection etc) would be a big plus.
  • Knowledge of public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Prior experience with compliance standards and regulated industries (e.g. Common Criteria, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, CSA).

What we offer

  • Opportunities to develop and grow as an engineer. We are always expanding into new areas and exploring new technologies.
  • Fantastic teams. We have exceptionally skilled and dedicated peers and individual contributors in our organization and company.
  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe that mentors help both sides of the equation.
  • A stable, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. The teams work together to get things done, and adapt to the changing needs for the team.
  • Balance. We don't expect people to work 12 hour days. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and commitment, and believe that balance helps cultivate a positive environment.
  • Fun. We are committed to having every employee want to do their best, and have fun while doing it!
