Infrastructure Software Engineers at Splunk are cloud-native systems engineers who use infrastructure-as-code, microservices, automation, and efficient design to build, operate, and scale our products 
  
About the o11y SWAT Team 
The o11y SWAT Team is pivotal in diagnosing and resolving complex issues in large-scale, multi-tiered, and diverse infrastructures, including Kubernetes clusters and cloud environments, and applications are developed using multiple technologies. We collaborate with leading companies worldwide, including top corporations in communications, supply chain, transportation, and financial sectors. Our expertise greatly enhances the productivity and efficiency of these distinguished customers globally. As significant contributors to the development of OpenTelemetry (OTEL), this presents an outstanding opportunity for talented candidates to engage in impactful work on a global scale. 
  
What You'll Get to Do: 
  • Participate in resolving engineering escalations, focusing on diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and operations, to understand and address urgent cases.
  • Support experienced engineers in optimizing system performance and reliability to meet customer needs.
  • Enhance your technical skills through mentorship and guidance from senior team members.
  • Replicate customer issues on-demand to conduct root cause analysis and assist in developing solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, translating them into actionable solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and explore opportunities to integrate new technologies in support processes.
  
Must-Have Qualifications: 
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, such as data structures and algorithms.
  • 5+ yrs of experience with one or more technologies such as .Net, Java, NodeJS, Python or Golang
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and debugging in production environments.
  • Basic knowledge of application performance monitoring (APM) tools or observability technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with relevant experience.
  
Nice-to-Have Qualifications: 
  • Exposure to AppDynamics or similar APM platforms.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • Awareness of cloud-native and hybrid deployment models.
  • Experience in high-compliance industries like finance or healthcare.
  • Involvement in open-source projects or technical community activities.
