Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python and Playwright to join our QA team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of Splunk & ITSI web applications. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers in an Agile environment to drive continuous testing practices and accelerate delivery cycles
What you’ll get to do
  • Design and implement advanced automated testing solutions using Python and Selenium or Playwright for end-to-end web testing
  • Develop and maintain robust API test automation using Python-based tools to validate backend services and integrations
  • Create comprehensive test plans and test cases to support both UI and API automation processes
  • Utilize BDD framework tools, particularly Pytest, to drive structured, efficient, and scalable test execution.
  • Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to understand system requirements, user flows, and integration points
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test results, identifying root causes and contributing to system quality improvements
  • Maintain detailed test documentation including test cases, execution results, and issue logs
  • Stay current with emerging trends in test automation, and continuously upgrade skills across tools, frameworks, and best practices
Must-have Qualifications
  • 5+ yrs of strong proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Pytest for test execution and behavior-driven development
  • Proven expertise in Playwright for end-to-end browser automation and UI testing
  • Working knowledge of Selenium for cross-browser and regression testing
  • Strong experience in API testing and automation for reliable backend and integration checks
  • Prior experience with WebdriverIO, with the ability to analyse and migrate WDIO-based test suites to Python frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git
Nice-to-have Qualifications
  • Experience with Docker or containerized test environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and proficiency in IPv6 networking and configurations
