Businesses around the world have adopted the information security standard ISO/IEC 27001 as part of managing their information security risks. The ISO/IEC 27001 framework is used to define and document the risk appetite for businesses large and small, and it is particularly useful to segment in-country regulatory requirements into specific information security controls. ISO/IEC 27002 provides hundreds of potential controls, and control mechanisms, to choose from, which are designed to be implemented by information security managers to give guidance for securing enterprise and organizational data.
