Coca-Cola North America Information Technology Honored for Business Innovation with Splunk

Coca-Cola North America Named to InformationWeek Elite 100

ATLANTA and SAN FRANCISCO – May 4, 2016 – Coca-Cola North America Information Technology and Splunk Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLK), provider of the leading software platform for real-time Operational Intelligence, today announced that Coca-Cola North America Information Technology was named to this year’s InformationWeek Elite 100, a list of the top business technology innovators in the United States. Coca-Cola North America Information Technology, a Splunk customer, is being honored for the company’s marketing transformation initiative. It has been selected as a recipient for a “Business Innovator” award in the “Productivity” category. The full list can be found on http://www.informationweek.com/elite100.

In today’s digital age, the most successful marketing campaigns are multi-faceted, spearheaded by creativity and supported by various technologies. Ahead of its competition, Coca-Cola North America Information Technology re-architected its digital marketing platform by moving all technologies into a cloud computing environment. This allowed the flexibility needed in order for the company to create scalable, creative digital marketing campaigns that incorporate pioneering technologies becoming more known for integration in marketing efforts.

“The success you see from our digital marketing transformation is due to our intentional focus on innovation and agility as well as results, our team’s ingenuity and our partnership with top technology companies like Splunk,” said Michelle Routh, chief information officer, Coca-Cola North America. “We recognized a chance for IT to collaborate much more closely with the marketing arm of Coca-Cola North America to bring an unparalleled digital marketing experience to our business and our customers. We have moved technologies to the cloud to scale our campaigns, used big data analytics, beacon and Internet of Things technologies to provide our customers with unique, tailored experiences.”

Coca-Cola North America Information Technology uses Splunk® Enterprise as the data engine powering their digital transformation in marketing. Splunk Enterprise is used by hundreds of employees to access and analyze the data curated from each of the technologies in the marketing campaign in order to make better, faster business decisions. This also enables Coca-Cola to analyze data around trending flavor mixes from its popular Freestyle machines and correlate that information with geographical and other data to implement targeted marketing, improve service and more efficiently stock vending machines. Working in Amazon Web Services, Splunk Enterprise collects, indexes and analyzes machine-generated big data from mobile devices, beacons, Coca-Cola Freestyle machine sensors, IT and security infrastructures and other technologies.

“Coca-Cola North America is one of our most innovative customers, using Splunk solutions in a myriad of new ways to tackle real business issues and increase efficiencies with data. We congratulate them on this incredible honor for business innovation,” said Steve Sommer, chief marketing officer, Splunk. “Coca-Cola North America Information Technology’s application of Splunk solutions is an exemplary showcase of talented IT and marketing professionals transforming the way marketing gets done in an increasingly digital world. We are honored to work with the leaders at Coca-Cola who are behind this well-deserved award win.”
