Jesse Miller has been a customer advocate since he joined Splunk in 2011 as a Sales Engineer. After supporting hundreds of customers over 3 years, he became the Technical Lead for Competitive Intelligence, and then the Enterprise Product Manager for Search, Datasets, & Getting Data In, contributing over 20 filed patents to Splunk's portfolio. In 2019 he became a Principal Sales Engineer, supporting some of Splunk's largest customers, and in 2020 he went back to Product Management (again!) to run Splunk Ideas. Prior to Splunk, Jesse worked as a Messaging Architect at Sendmail, and a Linux Systems Administrator at UC Berkeley, where he earned his degree in Cognitive Science. When he’s not making the world a Splunkier place, he’s probably learning to play a new Beethoven Piano Sonata or teaching his daughters how to Shoryuken in Street Fighter 2.
