Role Summary

The Splunk Value Platform team is passionate about enabling sales and customer success teams by providing a unified suite of business value assessment tools. This team has already delivered applications that significantly increase Splunk's revenue by scaling best practices throughout the Sales and Customer Success organizations. The team is actively seeking a Software Engineer with an analytical mind and passion for crafting and developing solutions using NodeJS, React, Redux-based UI, Amazon EC2 / ECS, NGINX, Docker, Gitlab, Postgres, and Redis. What you'll get to do

  • Build state-of-the-art applications using a modern JavaScript stack (Node.js, React).
  • Collaborate with UI specialists and designers to implement adaptable and responsive interfaces across multiple platforms.
  • Build close relationships with teammates, product managers, and QA engineers in breaking down feature requests into concrete plans and assist when needed with the creation and execution of test plans.
  • Put your head together with key architects and managers to establish and implement scalable methodologies for delivering high-quality software.
  • Ensure development projects fulfill business requirements and goals and delight end-users.
  • Build necessary documentation to ensure project objectives are met and designs well documented and communicated.
  • Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review, design, development, and debugging of your applications.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of web application development using Javascript, CSS, HTML, and MVC frameworks, or other relevant proven experience. A strong foundational knowledge of CSS and Javascript.
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing single-page applications and a good understanding of web design industry standards.
  • Familiarity with developing and working with Restful APIs using Node.js frameworks.
  • Consistent record in picking up new technologies and concepts quickly, coupled with an unending desire to learn and improve.
  • Experience with automated build and deploy systems, such as Gitlab.
  • Strive to work in a team-first, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Consistent track record of developing web applications, from inception to delivery.
  • Some understanding of usability, networking, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole of you.

  • Familiarity with Jira & Git
  • Experience crafting and developing multi-tiered applications in a microservices architecture.
  • Experience working on cross-browser, multi-device applications.
  • Familiarity with application containerization (Docker).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of Splunk.

Note:

Base Pay Range

Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 28,800,000.00 - 39,600,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
