Role

Splunk's Growth Engineering team is a dynamic, outstanding & dedicated set of individuals, and is responsible for implementing multiple technology stacks with AEM as a centralized content management system for Splunk’s web properties. This role is for the AEM Engineering team, as a Senior AEM Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the back-end interface of websites and/or applications to build intuitive, and high-performance user interfaces. As part of this role, you will be closely working with the product owner, scrum master, and other AEM engineer team members and QA team members to plan and complete sprints. The candidate should have proven experience in developing templates/components for Content management systems like AEM to support day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build system and application solutions to achieve defined digital experience and business needs using AEM, other sophisticated technologies, and integration patterns.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle including analyzing, designing, programming, testing, deployment, and support/sustenance of web-based applications/properties.
  • Advocate and implement the latest Web/Digital Marketing Solutions and Strategies.
  • Work in agile, rapid development, and prototyping environment

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. preferably in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience with a Strong CS foundation.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and developing websites/applications using AEM Sites, Assets, Java, and Web Marketing functions with expertise in related technologies.
  • AEM Backend Development like Sling Servlets, Java libraries, OSGi Components, etc.
  • Experience in Java Content Repository (API) suite, Sling web framework, and Apache Felix OSGi framework, DAM, Content Fragment, Experience Fragment, Editable templates, Workflows is required.
  • Touch UI, Sightly (HTL), Sling Models, and familiarity with SOLR/Lucene
  • UI technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Object Oriented JavaScript, and JQuery.
  • Experience with web security, page load optimization, and responsive web design.
  • Experience with Code Quality, Static code Analysis, and Security tools like SONAR would be idle
  • Familiarity with CDN i.e. Akamai or Amazon CloudFront and Application Performance Monitoring (Splunk Observability Cloud, etc.)
  • Ability to Integrate AEM with the translation service provider (Translations.com, Smartling, etc.)
  • Understanding & experience with Amazon AWS cloud (or GCP or Azure) architecture & services
  • Ability to intake business vision, translate it to technical solution & design requirements
  • Experience working with PMs, BA/POs, Tech Lead/Architects & UI Developers to plan out an end-to-end solution

Nice to have

  • Adobe AEM Developer/Architect Certification
  • Familiarity with AEM Sites and/or Assets as a Cloud Service
  • Define forward-looking business strategies related to digital transformations
  • Excellent estimation abilities in scoping work in a highly complex environment

Note:

Base Pay Range

Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 34,400,000.00 - 47,300,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
