Role

The Global MSP Technical Strategy Lead is a senior-level role responsible for developing and implementing technical strategies and solutions for managed service provider clients. This position requires strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to drive critical initiatives across multiple regions. The Global MSP Technical Strategy Lead collaborates with cross-functional teams, engages with MSP partners at an executive level and provides guidance to technical teams to ensure the successful implementation of MSP services.

Responsibilities

  • Long-term Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and drive the global technical strategy for the MSP, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
  • Identify market movements, emerging technologies, and customer needs to shape the technical roadmap and enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborate with key Splunk coworkers to establish strategic partnerships and alliances that support the MSP's growth and innovation initiatives.
  • Establish interlocks with regional MSP SMEs and the global partner teams to rollout global initiatives.
  • Identifies, Prioritize and Interlocks with relevant collaborators (Product Management, Education, GTM, etc.) to ensure all requirements to deliver the MSP Tech Strategy is appropriately sponsored;
  • Collates, priorities, and champions MSP solution requirements with the product management & engineering teams
  • Partner with Splunk’s key team members (Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services, Education, etc.) to build and enhance Splunk’s Global Partner Program and Initiatives for Service Providers;
  • Identities and owns the Service Provider's technical methodologies, including the Service Activation Framework;
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, etc.) within Splunk to create MSP Technical assets required for GTM;
  • Ensures global representation for field-related resources by driving interlocks and coordinating theater-specific Service Provider engagements;
  • Act as a technology leader with vision internally and externally by engaging with key decision makers (Product Owners, CTOs) and sharing standard methodologies for key Service Activation Engagements and opportunities;
  • Participate and facilitate technical panels, webinars, and events across Splunk’s global MSP technical community, including the Splunk Partner Advisory for MSP Partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a senior-level technical strategy or architecture role within the MSP or IT services industry.
  • Strong understanding of global MSP services, IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven track record working globally, managing multiple partners throughout Splunk, and developing programs and methodologies;
  • Service Development/Activation experience; understands where vendor products impact Service Provider offerings most. E.g. Microsoft, Crowdstrike, Tenable
  • Strong MSP/MSSP background across mid-market and enterprise, including Solution Architectures (understands multi-tenant concepts), Business models (licensing models, monetization opportunities)
  • Product, Program, or Project Management experience;
  • IT Security Background is preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem-identification and problem-solving abilities.

Note:

OTE Pay Ranges

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

On Target Earnings: $196,000.00 - 269,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.

On Target Earnings: $182,000.00 - 250,250.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
