Are you a passionate Sales Leader, who admirably encourages and seamlessly develops their Team to be greater?
Due to our growth we are seeking an outstanding sales leader to join our team as AVP, out of our India office. In addition to passion, skills, and experience, you will have validated in exceeding revenue targets and shown expertise in building and running sales organizations! You will play a role driving a share of revenue for Splunk, are you up for the challenge?
As an Area Vice President, you have strong leadership skills to effectively lead and run a sales team. This includes setting clear objectives, providing guidance and support, coaching, and developing team members, and fostering a high-performance sales culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver impactful license, support and revenue targets
  • The ability to think strategically and develop effective sales strategies is crucial. You should have a deep understanding of the software/security industry, market dynamics, customer needs, and competition. This enables you to identify growth opportunities, formulate market entry strategies, and align sales efforts with overall company goals.
  • A set of outstandingly versatile and dedicated peers, all the way from Sales Engineering to Customer Support.
  • The opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of how to partner with both international and domestic colleagues to expand deal size and value to the customer.
  • Tight-knit collaboration and relationship-building skills are vital to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and customer support. Building partnerships with key collaborators and strategic alliances can help drive business growth and expand market presence.
  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing our sales talent through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation.
  • Good corporate citizen – two way flow of relevant and timely information; work as a team for the most efficient use and deployment of resources.
  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, particularly product management and marketing.
  • A stable, respectful and collaborative work environment.
Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
  • Strong in leading front line enterprise level sales teams; ability to grow and scale upward with the company; second line management experience a plus
  • A passion for developing internal talent
  • 10+ years direct and channel selling experience to large enterprises
  • Proven track record in building strong, positive relationships at the “C” suite level with success of closing six and seven figure software licensing deals
  • Strong executive presence and polish
  • Forecasting commitments and forecasting accuracy
  • Inspirational management, interpersonal, written and presentation skills
  • Experience speaking publicly at industry events
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, exciting environment
  • Successful in negotiating favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by selling value and return on investment
  • Work with inside sales and partners for maximum efficiency
  • Leverage sales engineering and in-house as well as partner services resources
  • Player /coach, hands on with the team; very involved with account planning, strategy and sales calls
  • Proficient in hiring outstanding talent to match our culture and growth
  • Relevant software shown experience in Enterprise IT systems, enterprise or infrastructure management
  • Use CRM systems (Sales Force) extensively
  • Track record of success and intimate understanding of Large Enterprise and Public Sector customers in India.

Note:

OTE Range

For sales roles starting salaries are expressed as On Target Earnings or OTE (OTE = base + on-target incentives in the form of sales commission plans).

India

On Target Earnings: INR 12,000,000.00 - 16,500,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
