Former NSA CIO and CTO to Deliver Joint Security Keynote with Splunk CMO at .conf2013

Keynote to Explore Impact of Big Data on Security; New Customer Presentations Are Revealed

SAN FRANCISCO - August 21, 2013Splunk Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLK), the leading software platform for real-time operational intelligence, today announced Prescott Winter, managing director, The Chertoff Group and former CIO and CTO, National Security Agency (NSA), and Steve Sommer, chief marketing officer, Splunk will deliver the security keynote at .conf2013, the fourth annual Splunk Worldwide Users' Conference. The joint presentation titled "How Big Data is Transforming Security" will address how new, more advanced software is transforming security intelligence at organizations around the world. The security keynote is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1 at 1:45 p.m. PT. Register now for .conf2013.

Winter, drawing upon his 27 years at NSA and current role as managing director working with former DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff, will address the technological revolution within industries and governments, while Sommer will outline how Splunk software empowers organizations to address the complex challenges identified by Winter.
