What has 40 wheels, 20 hearts and a single mission…That’s right! A group of daring riders aiming to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer Research.
On June 17th, 2025, a dedicated team of over 20 Cisconians and Splunkers, along with some of our amazing partners from Adarma and RiverSafe, will set off on a 3 day, 400km ride across international borders from London to Bruges.
It’s more than just a physical journey. It’s a mission to raise awareness, generate crucial funding, and show our solidarity for a cause that touches so many lives.
Let’s take a moment to zoom out. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. That statistic is sobering, and behind it are real people; our dads, brothers, partners, and friends.
Prostate Cancer Research is a phenomenal charity working at the frontlines of this issue. They fund lifechanging research, advocate for policy changes, and provide critical support to men and their families across the UK. Every kilometre we ride is a pedal stroke closer to improving outcomes, spreading awareness, and saving lives.
Over the course of 3 intense days, the team will ride from the Splunk office in London, through the rolling countryside of southern England, across the Channel, and onward through Belgium to the historic city of Bruges.
That’s 400km of physical exertion, changing weather, long hours in the saddle, and the kind of camaraderie that only emerges from pushing through together.
We’re proud to say that it’s not just Splunkers this year, we’re joined by a crew of committed supporters from Adarma and RiverSafe, proving once again that when the cause is meaningful, the community shows up.
This wouldn’t be a proper Splunk adventure if there wasn’t a little data magic along the way.
We’ll be tracking the cyclists through live data being sent to Splunk and analysing their rides in Splunk for an interactive and engaging experience.
Want to see who’s leading the pack? Curious about average speeds, terrain elevation, or even battery levels on some of the rider gear? We’ve got it covered.
We’ll use Splunk’s powerful analytics engine to turn raw data into a living dashboard, a digital story of endurance, teamwork, and purpose. And just like last time, we’ll make that dashboard public so you can follow along from the comfort of your desk, home, or anywhere with a screen.
We’ll be updating this blog as the ride progresses with:
So whether you’re a techie, a cycling fanatic, or just someone who cares about men’s health, there’s something here for you.
Help us spread the word. Help us raise funds. Help us ride for a future where prostate cancer no longer claims the lives of the people we love.
We’re humbled by the support we’ve already received and inspired by the dedication of every single rider, partner, and supporter involved and we wanted to share some words from a Splunker who holds this amazing cause close to their heart, Gordon Morrison, Government Affairs Director. Gordon had this to say:
“Prostate cancer is a silent killer. Did you know that 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime? If you’re Black, your risk is even higher—nearly double.
Back in September 2019, I was living a happy life as a dedicated Splunker. Then, my world changed. I started having trouble peeing, but like many men, I ignored the symptoms and put off seeing my GP for far too long. By the time I finally sought medical advice, I learned I had a tumor on my prostate, and the cancer had already spread to my bones. It was Stage 4—incurable.
I’ve learned that life doesn’t stop with a diagnosis. Nearly seven years later, I’m still going strong. Through a combination of hormone therapy and chemotherapy in the early days—and monthly maintenance treatments (yes, those tummy injections!)—I’m still going strong. A recent scan showed nothing of immediate concern, and I’m optimistic about the future.
This journey has had its ups and downs, but it’s also shown me the power of resilience and the incredible support systems around me. I owe so much to my local GP service, the excellent private healthcare provided by Splunk and Cisco, and, most importantly, the unwavering support of my family, friends and colleagues. From day one, they’ve stood by me, and for that, I’ll forever be grateful.
I also want to take a moment to thank the real heroes: those of you who are riding this week to raise money for prostate cancer research. Your efforts truly save lives and bring hope to countless men and their families. Every penny you raise goes toward research that makes a real difference.
Good luck, ride well. I wish I could be there with you”
So with Gordons kind words of luck, and knowing how many people are supporting this ride, please follow our Instagram and show your support for all the riders. We will be sharing photos, videos and dashboard updates as they go - https://www.instagram.com/splunk_l2b/
