What comes to mind when you think about Boston, Massachusetts? Is it the historic Freedom Trail? Or maybe it’s watching a late summer baseball game at the iconic Fenway Park. Or, if you’re like me, it’s enjoying a lobster roll as you wander through Quincy Market. This fall, we’re hoping to give you something else to think about: world-class technical learning from Splunk.
That’s because we are “leaving Las Vegas” and moving our annual user conference — affectionately known as .conf25 — to Boston this fall. As part of that immersive experience, I’m excited to share that Splunk Education is once again hosting Splunk University from September 6–8, 2025, starting days just prior to .conf25. And registration is already open!
We like to think that Splunk Education is your trusted partner for building the skills, confidence, and expertise needed to turn data into action and drive meaningful outcomes using Splunk. We’re here for you, whether you're securing systems, optimizing operations, or advancing your career. In fact, we know that more proficient Splunk users are thriving — with many reporting significant year-over-year career advancements and increases in compensation. Splunk skills are opening doors to leadership opportunities and increased responsibility. And we’re bringing that opportunity to Boston with in-person, hands-on training taught by Splunk Education instructors and amplified by the energy of a global community of learners.
Splunk University isn’t just training. My team is highly creative and works hard to develop targeted, real-world learning that reflects the evolving demands of data-driven security and operations. Whether you’re brand new to Splunk or looking to expand the breadth and depth of your skills, we have you covered through an extensive catalog of courses, expert instructors, robust course materials, and interactive labs. For 2025, we’ve also added nine “wicked” new courses and an Attack Simulation Lab Practical on the first Monday of .conf25 for those ready to test their skills in tactical scenarios. Our 2- and 3-day technical tracks, focused on Platform, Developer, Security, and Observability, are built to include hands-on labs, real-world exercises, and collaborative workshops that turn book learning into practical application. And we’ve seen how this experience helps attendees develop a stronger sense of confidence, purpose, and professional direction—qualities that are essential to building organizations that are more resilient, secure, and responsive.
While I am extremely proud of Splunk University — and the part we play at .conf25 — I’d be completely remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible value of Splunk Certification. According to our 2024 Splunk Career Impact Report, certified professionals are not just earning higher salaries, but are also feeling more secure and confident in their careers. So, I’m excited to share that we will have a Splunk Certification testing center onsite again this year. From the final day of Splunk University through the end of .conf25, attendees can sit for deeply discounted Splunk Certification exams (just $25) with no limit. Whether you're pursuing your first certification or stacking up those credentials to advance your career, Boston is the place to validate your expertise. Register for your exams ahead of time so you can avoid the lines.
The learning doesn’t stop after Splunk University ends. Throughout the week at .conf25, you’ll be learning everywhere! From inspirational keynotes, practical hands-on sessions, community networking, and more. Plus, the Splunk Education crew will have a fun presence within the Pavilion — sharing the latest on our learning paths, certification options, training partnerships, and strategies to align technical learning with your organization’s goals. Come meet some of your favorite Splunkers, ask questions, explore course options, and connect with fellow learners.
Splunk University at .conf25 is more than an event — it’s an investment in yourself, your team, and the outcomes you’re working to achieve. I hope to see you in Boston.
PS: Early Bird registration closes June 9 at 11:59 p.m. PT. All registration details, pricing, and package information are detailed here.
