Introducing Splunk 10: Empowering a Secure and Compliant Future

Splunk is pleased to announce the general availability of Splunk Enterprise 10.0 and Splunk Cloud Platform 10.0, the most secure, stable, and modernized platform for a digitally resilient, compliance-ready future.

The Splunk 10 platform is the next evolution of data security. With the latest cryptographic models and more performant data pipeline management, Splunk 10 delivers continued momentum in search & indexing, dashboard visualization, and ease of compliance administration.

What’s New & Exciting in Splunk 10?

Compliant-Ready Environment

Splunk Enterprise 10.0 and Splunk Cloud Platform 10.0 deliver a more secure and compliant environment, reducing the administrative overhead for Splunk admins, allowing them to focus more on strategic business priorities. Splunk 10 meets the FIPS 140-3 encryption requirements of FedRAMP and FISMA to ensure sensitive information and data is protected. Libraries and packages such as OpenSSL, Python, and MongoDB have all been upgraded — ensuring that our customers stay at the forefront of security and reliability for today’s dynamic enterprise environments.

More Performant Data Management

As data volumes surge and complexity grows, organizations face mounting pressure to cut through the noise, unlock actionable insights, and make faster, smarter decisions. With Splunk 10, organizations gain control over data costs and end-to-end visibility into their entire data pipeline, empowering teams to optimize resources and drive smarter business outcomes.

Edge Processor, now available for Splunk Enterprise, is our SPL2-powered pipeline processing capability delivering enhanced filtering, masking, routing and data transformation enabling customers to have more control, choice, and cost flexibility while managing data pipelines.

The introduction of additional agent management capabilities for Splunk Enterprise increases customer visibility and insights into the status and health of their fleet, allowing customers to better manage hundreds of agents, perform remote upgrades, and monitor health. Now with the support for OTel Collectors, this new capability gives customers a unified, streamlined view of every agent deployed for data ingestion. This enables proactive management, faster troubleshooting, and a more cohesive data operations experience across their entire environment.

Ingest Monitoring, now available for Splunk Cloud Platform customers, delivers real-time, actionable visibility into data pipelines, empowering customers to track ingestion volumes, pinpoint latency issues, and optimize data flows across every source and index.

Splunk Observability Integrations

Gain deeper visibility across your entire stack for faster IT troubleshooting, using Splunk Observability Cloud Related Content in Splunk Enterprise. With this enhancement, ITOps professionals can quickly identify root cause of IT issues by easily previewing Splunk Observability Cloud infrastructure and application data in context with Splunk logs in the Search and Reporting interface. By integrating Splunk’s observability data into their workflows, Splunk users can benefit from complete visibility into their digital systems in one single platform, avoiding jumping across tools or team silos.

We’ve additionally brought Splunk Observability Cloud monitoring metrics and Service Map views into Splunk Dashboard Studio. This means that Splunk Enterprise users can now tap into Splunk Observability Cloud’s powerful real-time metrics store or easily visualize all their dependencies among their services alongside SPL-powered dashboards for centralized dashboarding experience and faster insights into the health of their digital systems.

Dashboard Studio Updates

As the top requested feature for Dashboard Studio in Splunk Ideas, Splunk Enterprise 10.0 introduces the ability to publish dashboards without requiring a Splunk login. Splunk users can now share impactful, visually engaging dashboards with peers, analysts, and executives — delivering insightful data to drive informed decision-making, all without compromising security.

Splunk 10's additional Dashboard Studio updates — favoriting dashboards, linking to specific tabs, and adding buttons for interactivity — enhance user efficiency and productivity, enabling users to achieve quicker Security and Observability outcomes.

For Splunk Cloud Platform customers, Dashboard Studio introduces multi-tab exporting, enhanced tab interactions, expanded trellis layouts for more chart types, dynamic map coloring via UI, improved token management, and precise zoom controls — making dashboard creation and navigation faster, more intuitive, and customizable.

Upgrade Readiness

With the announcement of these exciting enhancements and modernizations, the Splunk platform is committed to staying ahead of the ever-evolving digital landscape. In order to continue the modernization of the Splunk platform, customers may need to take action to prepare for certain breaking changes.
