Michael Fanning is the Chief Information Security Officer at Splunk, a Cisco Company. Michael is responsible for security engineering, assurance, policy, compliance, and awareness. During his tenure at Splunk, Michael also led security operations and product security while previously serving as Deputy CISO and Acting CISO.

Michael has over 20 years experience in the technology industry. Prior to joining Splunk, Michael was Director of Cloud Security at Oracle, where he was responsible for leading security detection and response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and security engineering functions. Additionally, Michael worked in various security roles at Microsoft, Raytheon, and Symantec.

Michael has spoken on various security panels at Splunk .conf and forums, including Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
