Get Involved: Start Contributing to Splunk Technology Add-Ons!

Hey, Splunk Community!

We’re excited to announce the private preview of the Splunk Technology Add-ons Community Contribution program — exclusively for SplunkTrust, MVPs, and Partners!

Why It Matters

Splunk Technology Add-ons (TAs) enable data to be onboarded to Splunk in a structured, powerful way. But we know there have been challenges: bug fixes and customizations often remain siloed, making it difficult to contribute enhancements back to the Splunk-supported version and increasing maintenance overhead for customers.

This program changes that. We’re opening the door to collaborative, governed, and high-quality contributions to Splunk-supported TAs. You get to help improve the content the Splunk Community relies on. We will give you the tools, processes and support to make it happen.

Why We Are Doing This

As Splunk grows, so does the need for more integrations and better coverage of new data sources. But we can’t do it alone. Splunk engineers, admins, consultants, security analysts are out there solving real problems every day.

This program gives you a way to contribute and share your improvements with the wider Splunk Community. Let’s stop working in silos and start building better, together.

What You’ll Get as a Contributor

We’re setting you up for success with:

The Splunk Add-ons repositories are available on Github and contributors can get access to the repository based on issues they want to solve or feature requests.

Interested in Contributing? Here's How:

Sign the Collaboration Agreement (one time action) to gain access to the Splunk-supported GitHub TA repositories.

Come with idea to solve (bug to be fixed/ feature request/ CIM improvement/ documentation change)

Join our Slack channel: #dm-oss-ta for collaboration and updates.

📫 Not in one of those groups yet? Connect via the #dm-oss-ta Slack channel and let us know you’re interested!

Let’s Build it Together

This is just the beginning. We believe the best Splunk content is built by the community, for the community.

Stay tuned for more updates, contributor spotlights, and recognitions!

Happy contributing!
