Data Edge: About Us

Organizational transformation may start in the C-suite, but it will grind to a halt if the right people lack the right data at the right time to make the decisions to drive it forward.

This timely decisionmaking is the catalyst for growth, innovation and, ultimately, competitive advantage. However, the technological, cultural and societal barriers standing between data and the people who need it most are not only numerous, but entrenched.

We sit at the intersection of business outcomes and technology, copious amounts of data and informed action. This destination creates a space for discourse and information sharing, showcasing leaders, thinkers and insights in service of our vision to create a world where data provides clarity, elevates discussion and accelerates progress.

The conversations, research and innovations we share will inspire transformational leaders to define the future, empower their people and ignite the action necessary to drive transformation in a faster, more disruptive world.

Mark Woods

Chief Technical Advisor, Splunk

Mark is a passionate technologist who’s spent too much time owning a P&L to really call himself an engineer. Innovative technology (in all its various flavors) has been the common backbone for Mark’s career, from mission-critical delivery to innovation acceleration, global portfolio optimization to fundraising, and acquisition selection to ground-up organization building.

At Splunk, he helps executive teams and international policy makers understand the seismic effect that data-driven approaches can achieve and get the right blend of enabling technology, expertise, empowering guidance and practical governance to deliver beneficial change.

“Strategy is useless without a common framework for decisions, a framework is useless without resilient processes that adapt to changing priorities — exploiting data is the only way to close this loop.”
