Role

Splunk's Growth Engineering team is a dynamic, outstanding & versatile set of individuals, and is responsible for implementing multiple technology stacks with AEM as a centralized content management system throughout Splunk’s online presence. This role is for the Web Support team, as a UI Engineer, your responsibilities will include developing the front-end user interface of websites and/or applications to build intuitive, visually appealing, and high-performance user interfaces, improving Splunk's web core web vitals, and optimizing Splunk web properties. As part of this role, you will be closely working with the product owner, scrum master, and other frontend and QA team members to plan and complete sprints. You should have relevant and extensive experience in UI tech stacks to support day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all phases of software development including support/sustenance of web-based applications/properties.
  • Work in agile, rapid development, and prototyping environments.
  • Mentor existing/new team members as/if needed with delivery processes, customizations, findings, and support.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and Optimize for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Deliver the most value for the customer and bring new designs/interactions forward in conjunction with the Design System Guidelines.
  • Adhere to design patterns, and coding standard methodologies, accessibility requirements, to ensure UI code quality.

Requirements

  • BS EE or CS degree; 5 + years experience (or Masters and 4 + years related experience or PhD without experience) in web development, in-depth experience developing numerous web experiences.
  • Solid experience in developing Responsive Web Design, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Object Oriented JavaScript, React, and JQuery.
  • Front-end build tools (Grunt, Webpack) plus experience with GIT and NodeJS.
  • Experience in CSS Frameworks like Bootstrap etc.
  • Good understanding of UI best practices and RESTful services.
  • Preferred some Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or any CMS experience is required.
  • Experience with continuous integration/build tools (Jenkins).
  • Appreciation for design, usability, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility concerns.
  • Strong sense of web design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience.
  • SCRUM/Agile development methodologies is preferred.

Base Pay Range

Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 26,400,000.00 - 36,300,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
