Technical Marketing Intern - Security (Summer 2021)

Role

Are you an undergraduate student who blends the technical and marketing lines? Are you interested in building an exciting career in technical marketing? Are you seeking to learn from an innovative, successful, and fun team in the fast-paced tech industry? If that sounds interesting, the technical marketing intern role at Splunk is for you!

As part of the Security Technical Marketing team, you will have the opportunity to work directly on the latest technologies in Splunk’s security portfolio. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively within a team to solve hard problems for customers. If you are passionate about making customers successful and like rolling up your sleeves and working with data, this is the internship you seek!


Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to improve messaging and positioning of security product demonstrations
  • Catalog demonstration scenarios
  • Build common information model of assets used in our security demonstrations scenarios
  • Work closely with members of the Product Marketing and Sales Engineering Teams to design security demonstrations scenarios

Skill Requirements

  • Proficiency with G Suite and/or Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Very organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Collaborative self-starter who wants to dive right in
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • A great team player ready and willing to collaborate with anyone at Splunk at any time
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and Zero Trust framework
  • Experience in Web Programming (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (Python would be a plus)
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly (Splunk knowledge would be a plus)

Preferred

  • Experience with Splunk products & solutions
  • Experience developing software for enterprise and/or cloud based deployments
  • Experience working with Big Data platforms and tool sets such as Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, etc

Education Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering, computer engineering or computer science
