Sr. Manager, Federal Strategic Programs

Are you ready to change the way businesses think and do you want to make your impact? We seek a Sr. Manager, Federal Strategic Programs that has a background in public sector procurement contracts, programs and systems integrators. The successful applicant will be expected to work with sales leaders to develop overall public sector strategy to align with the BD team, the System Integrator team as well as manage the coordination with the legal team to ensure NDAs and TAs are in place and government consultants are onboarded an managed to support the overall public sector sales mission. Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in the public sector market. This is a highly visible position requiring a proven record of success in growing new business and expanding current engagements. 

Location: McLean, VA with an option to work remote

The candidate will define and execute the overall business development strategy, to include pursuit and capture and work with a cross functional team to drive the development and marketing of Splunk software solutions in the public sector market. Familiarity with government programs including contract vehicles, planning, budget and execution processes, and acquisition strategies is required. 
The candidate must possess strong leadership and organizational skills to cultivate, build and maintain customer relationships, internally and externally, critical to technology development. 
Requirements: “I have these!” 
  • 10+ years working in the public sector or direct selling/business development experience selling IT infrastructure solutions and Services to the public sector market
  • Existing network of Customer and SI relationships within the Public Sector community
  • Very comfortable in the “C” suite with a track record of managing large IT programs through the acquisition process
  • Deep understanding of the Public Sector Request for Proposal process (both Federal and SLED). Planning, logistics and players
  • Strong executive presence and polish
  • Proven experience as a people manager hiring, leading and empowering a high-performance team
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Extraordinary, social, written and presentation skills
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, rapidly changing environment
  • Able to work independently and remotely from other members of your team and corporate
  • Relevant software industry experience in IT systems, enterprise or infrastructure management

Note: 

OTE Pay Ranges 

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans). 

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area 

On Target Earnings: $256,000.00 - 352,000.00 per year 

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states. 

On Target Earnings: $240,000.00 - 330,000.00 per year 

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
