Sr. Threat Intelligence Analyst (US Remote OK)

Are you passionate about tracking criminal threat actors in the wild? Do you look forward to crafting a Yara signature for a new APT implant? Have you argued about whether an assumption is an anchoring bias or a mirroring bias? If so, you could be an excellent Senior Intelligence Analyst on the Splunk Threat Hunting & Intelligence team. We provide threat-centric decision-making support to Splunk Security, leadership, and other partners.

You will lead the collection, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence to support tactical, operational, and strategic internal needs. In addition, you will collaborate in the development and publication of various types of scheduled and ad-hoc intelligence products. A successful analyst will always be excited to discover new tactics, techniques, and procedures and how threat groups are applying them.


  • Tactical and operational intelligence support for SOC and CIRT and strategic support for Splunk Security & corporate leadership
  • Research and curate new intelligence collection sources
  • Actively researching new TTPs from public and internal reporting
  • Build compelling internal presentations from the results of your work
  • Creation of detailed process documentation


  • Demonstrated ability as a cyber or geopolitical intelligence analyst, incident responder, SOC engineer, malware reverse engineer, or similar role
  • Ability to reduce large datasets into meaningful information
  • Loves sharing information via presentations and prose for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Indicator, Signature, and TTP development and management
  • Expertise in uncovering adversary activity not detected by industry detection rules
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrable experience searching and reporting with Splunk
  • Experience with EDR or NSM technologies
  • Familiar with intelligence analysis tools including Threat Intel Platforms (TIPs)
  • Malware Reverse Engineering or Software Development Experience
  • Geopolitical analysis
  • General log analysis (cloud services, DNS, email, DHCP, VPN, etc)

This can be a full-time remote position or based in San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, or McLean, VA.
