Join us as we pursue our mission to remove the barriers between data and action, so that everyone thrives in the Data Age. Splunk is filled with people who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology in an effort to help our customers succeed. As the world’s first Data-to-Everything Platform, Splunk is creating a world where data provides clarity, elevates discussion and accelerates progress. We invite you to explore what has made us one of the fastest growing technology companies in history, and how you can be an integral part of our journey!
Don’t let the word ‘marketing’ in the title scare you - for this role, Splunk is seeking someone with experience monitoring infrastructure and/or web applications to help connect end users to our world-class Observability products. If you’ve written blog posts, given conference presentations, or otherwise connected with an audience, guess what - you’ve done marketing!
If you want to help other SREs, DevOps types, and software engineers get Observability into their systems and teach them how to make the Internet better, faster, and more resilient, this role is for you.
In this role, you will be a key resource for and part of a team of product marketing professionals responsible for the positioning, messaging, and integrated go-to-market planning and execution for Splunk’s Observability solutions. You will be responsible for deciding what content needs to exist to increase adoption of Observability practices at the practitioner level, and for developing this content (such as blogs/articles, videos, demos, and conference talks.) Your goals will revolve around building awareness, educating, and driving adoption of our products by DevOps folks, such as SREs, DevOps engineers, and software engineers.
Our team is part of the product organization, and you will work closely with the product and engineering teams to get people talking about Observability (and using Splunk’s Observability products to do it), and to show off the features and benefits of our best-in-class products. You’ll also provide feedback to these teams on what is needed to make our products more compelling to the people who actually use them. Additionally, you’ll create expert-level content to help increase Splunk’s share of voice for key topics related to Observability and DevOps. You’ll also work with other marketing teams to develop marketing campaigns and collateral that appeal to other practitioners. You should have a passion for storytelling through product, a bias for action, and a burning desire to win.
The Observability team at Splunk is made up of passionate people building the world’s most advanced Observability (infrastructure and application monitoring, real-user metrics, incident response, log analysis, etc.) platform. This role is an extraordinary opportunity for you to join a fast-growing team at a senior level, and to help guide investments in Observability made across the company to the right places to reach the essential practitioner audience with authentic messages. Domain knowledge in Observability is required. Hands-on expertise in at least some of: infrastructure monitoring, APM, DEM and logging solutions is a must. Prior experience in marketing to DevOps practitioners is highly beneficial.
