Role
We are seeking a hardworking and motivated individual to join Splunk’s growing legal team. The Sr. Program Manager, Data Protection is responsible for helping Splunk’s Data Protection Officer build Splunk’s global data protection programs and help ensure that Splunk continues to embrace best-in-class practices through strategic program management. The role will report to Splunk’s Sr. Director, Data Protection (Data Protection Officer). Splunk is based in the San Francisco Bay Area; for this position, full-time remote is available (West Coast time zone preferred).

Responsibilities
In supporting Splunk's global data protection programs, you will:
- Take a leading role in working cross-functionally with Splunk’s DPO and Data Protection Team Leads in coordinating cross-functional, global data protection programs and overseeing their management and implementation
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders in IT, Security, Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, and Products to help manage Splunk’s global data protection obligations
- Help build a common control framework to manage Splunk’s data protection programs, including the laws of the US, EMEA, APAC, and AMER
- Develop program requirements, detail the relevant scope, and estimate required resources and budgetary needs
- Oversee the selection, implementation and ongoing management of key tools for documenting and tracking compliance
- Help develop a data protection audit program cross-functionally with Data Protection Team Leads and key business stakeholders, including Internal Audit and Security
- Provide ongoing management and oversee content developmentand oversight of program resources, internally and externally, including corporate trainings, intranet Data Protection Resources, and externally facing customer trust center content
- Form strong working relationships with industry peers
- Flexibly assist in other areas of concern to Splunk’s dynamic legal team
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree a plus
- 10 to 12+ years of program management experience
- 5+ years of experience in privacy compliance
- Fundamental project management skills (e.g. project charters, trackers, timelines, and reports)
- Relevant project management certifications preferred (e.g. IAMP, PMP, MPM, or CSM)
- Relevant privacy or security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM)
- Experience with a sophisticated in-house legal department, privacy department, or consulting firm
- Experience with global data protection laws, standards and associated frameworks (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and APEC CBPR)
- Experience with cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS)
- Sophisticated Microsoft Office and GSuite skills (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Docs, Sheets, or Slides)
- Proficiency with project management practices, tools and methodologies (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheets, or Lucidchart)
- Familiarity with privacy program management tools (e.g. OneTrust or Nymity)
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of data privacy and security requirements globally
- An affinity for graphic design
