This is a highly strategic and technical hands-on role responsible for leading the technical direction for Quality Engineering with the selection of QE tools and technologies in alignment with the overall solution and architecture vision.

You will drive SAAS & Cloud testing strategy to deliver in a continuous delivery model.

You will create dashboard and reporting frameworks to provide visibility on code & test quality metrics, release quality to drive QA efficiency.

You will have the ability to deep dive into any technical discussion and articulates business impact and requirements.

You will promote Splunk innovations and be comfortable presenting at meetups, recruiting events, conferences and contribute to authoring and publishing blogs and whitepapers.

Communicate with senior leadership and other architects on testing and quality strategic plans.

Be a key contributor and member of Spunk architecture review process.

You will drive technology direction and continuously raise the bar on technical excellence and delivery while incorporating customer use cases, issues, telemetry data back into testing to enhance the overall product quality.

Work intimately with the Engineering and Product Management teams to develop, automate, and execute sophisticated tests against required specifications.

Proactively identify testing and process gaps and implements solutions to achieve efficiencies across the organizational boundaries.

Collaborate with external and internal teams. This is the heart of what makes Splunk a phenomenal place to work at.

Participate in high profile and critical customer engagements and escalations as needed.

Coach and mentor SDET engineers on best practices and technology direction.

Help build the talent pool in the organization with hiring.


  • Passionate about quality engineering and Splunk.
  • Strong SAAS background with deep understanding of API & microservices.
  • Solid understanding of Data Analytics, MapReduce, Virtualization (VM/Containers), and Visualization.
  • Solid experience in setting up and working on distributed systems and solutions like AWS Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Experience with Big Data Ingestion Frameworks, such as Pulsa, Kafka, Flume or equivalent
  • Experience with Big Data Processing Frameworks, such as Flink, Spark, or equivalent
  • Solid experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and any container orchestration system/solution.
  • Solid experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
  • SCM experience using Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Solid experience building test automation framework using framework (e.g. Ginkgo).Pytest, Javascript, or any Go testing
  • Solid experience in DevOps and CI/CD related technologies.
  • Effective communicator who can be the technical spokesperson for his Team/Area in broader architecture and technology discussion.
  • Experience in Engineering Management and Leadership.
  • BS EE or CS degree; 12 + years related experience (or Master’s and 10 + years related experience or Ph.D. and 7+ years' experience) or equivalent.
