Role

We’re looking for an experienced marketing and communications leader who relishes bringing people together across the social impact ecosystem to design programs and experiences that create conversation and deliver meaningful change. Splunk’s Senior Marketing Manager, Social Impact, will be someone who loves cross-functional collaboration, is curious about how data holds the answers to some of our toughest challenges, and wants to shape the future of Splunk’s Social Impact efforts.

Based in San Francisco or San Jose, CA, this role is global in scope and sits at the heart of Splunk’s high-growth and highly collaborative environment. We are looking for someone committed to creating exceptional programs and ready to partner with a high-performing team of passionate, committed and fun Splunkers. This is a hands-on, global role that will partner closely with the best and brightest talent in the industry.

Our Senior Marketing Manager, Social Impact will be responsible for telling our social impact story to our customers, people, partners and other key stakeholders. The role sits within our Corporate Marketing function reporting to the Vice President of Communications.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute programs that turn the best of Splunk’s brand, platform and talent into social change
• Partner with key teams - including Splunk for Good; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Environment, Sustainability and Governance - to create an integrated narrative and bespoke programs that help advance our mission
• Ensure coordination of social impact marketing efforts between the Splunk Pledge and wider customer activation
• Develop strategic partnerships and design programs that address social issues and mobilize the wider community
• Set the company’s social impact marketing strategy, define the narrative, and build highly creative engagement programs that drive awareness and engagement
• Oversee that the social impact marketing strategy is visible in all reporting. Including FY22 Social Impact Report (ESG section), sales marketing materials, pledge outreach materials, case studies etc.
• Partner closely with the rest of Communications to engage Splunkers, customers, strategic partners and our wider ecosystem with a powerful story to motivate and engage
• Showcase our Social Impact story, programs and outcomes at key moments throughout the year
• Build a new community across the social impact landscape and sustain through digital and in-person touchpoints
• Champion internal Splunk Social Impact communications to inspire and mobilize Splunkers around the world
• Measure the impact of programs on strategic goals, report and refine

Requirements

• 10+ years marketing and communications experience
• Experience in non-profit, sustainability, diversity & inclusion, social impact or policy sectors a plus
• Experience working with external partners, organizations and agencies to deliver multi-stakeholder programs
• Critical thinker with a can-do, problem-solving attitude
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams; ability to influence at all levels
• Flexible, resourceful and proactive
• Thrives working in high-paced and diverse environments
• Excellent storytelling skills and a creative eye
• Good data and metrics skills and how to link into storytelling
• Proven team player with potential to scale team
• Fun people preferred, sense of humor required.
