Role

We’re looking for an experienced collaborator and story-teller ready to lead Employee Communications for the G&A organization at Splunk, the Data-To-Everything company and one of the fastest growing, multi-billion dollar software providers on the planet.

Based in San Francisco or San Jose, CA, this role is global in scope and ideal for a communicator that thrives in a high-growth, fast-moving and highly collaborative environment, is committed to delivering exceptional and creative communications, and ready on day one to partner with a high-performing team of passionate, committed and fun Splunkers. Splunk’s Senior Manager of Employee Communications is a hands-on, global role that will partner closely with the best and brightest talent in the industry.

Responsibilities

Company-wide Communications

  • Lead the end-to-end development of employee-focused content strategy for global, business-critical initiatives, and implement this strategy to create content that attracts, engages, informs and delights employees – in a range of formats (e.g. written, experiential, digital) and channels (e.g. intranet, social, events)
  • Own and drive communications for some of the most important employee-facing topics, influencing, planning and executing Splunk’s most strategically important stories and employee experiences.
  • Manage internal crisis communications programs (election, COVID-19)
  • Scale our culture: Partnering with the Employee Experience team, champion, role model, and embed Splunk’s values and cultural principles as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Lead internal .conf communication efforts
  • Lead annual employee kickoff event
  • Lead monthly company-wide all hands engagements

G&A Communication (HR, Finance, Legal, Facilities, Splunk4Good, Safety, D&I)

  • Facilitate strategic communications for our G&A executives and functions that drive forward corporate priorities, strengthen employee engagement, optimize internal executive engagements and create a strong sense of belonging & inclusion.
  • Develop impactful employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle via HR Communication programs
  • Collaborate with teams to align employee engagement with external & executive communications.

Tool Management & Measurement

  • Use CultureAmp to keep a pulse on employee engagement across organizations and geographies
  • Manage Pwny Portal technology (including IT/vendor relationship)
  • Lead Pwny Portal (Intranet) content and strategy
  • Track results of employee communications programs against KPIs to improve retention and engagement in activities
  • Manage editorial calendar for employee communications team

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing communication programs and teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading communications for a technical function at a mid to large company.
  • Ability to interact effectively and influence all levels of leadership, including leadership and Splunk’s executive team.
  • Managing and scaling global communications messaging, events, programs and processes.
  • Experience in high-growth environments and understanding of how to scale great company cultures and manage organizational change efforts.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, graduate degree and/or technology experience is a plus.
  • Ready to be part of the team that will tell this decade's most exciting and compelling technology stories.
  • Fun people preferred.
