Role:

As a Sr. Event Marketing Specialist at Splunk, you will support the Global Event Marketing (GEM) Industry Events Team with building, communicating and applying Splunk’s industry events strategy. Splunk events include our user conference, .conf, industry events and other high value programs. Reporting to the Director, Industry Events, you will partner with leadership teams across Global Events, Field Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales and others to build strong alignment between company priorities and the priorities of key stakeholders.

Your day to day work will involve both event execution but with a primary focus on the communications strategy for both internal and external placeholders as well as managing onsite execution of executive meetings.You will develop a playbook for consistent reporting for Industry Events, creating templates and playbooks to drive consistency. This position requires both a strong program execution mind and a creative problem solver with a willingness to think beyond the obvious and plan for the next big thing.

A background in event planning with a growing focus on communications and program development is necessary to be successful in this role.

This position resides within the Global Event Marketing team as part of the Corporate Marketing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish project management standards and operating procedures within the Global Event Marketing Industry Events Team
  • Create, lead and distribute event reporting for key stakeholders and executive leadership for 3rd party and Industry programming
    • Communicate all event goals, objectives and KPIs to all program stakeholders
    • Produce calendars and timelines to ensure that milestones are updated and reviewed as years and programming progress
    • Create and execute reports that highlight key results
  • Continually connect with key stakeholders in product and corporate departments to ensure priorities and initiatives are aligned
  • Help
  • Partner with Marketing Operations team to develop and distribute post-event result reports
  • Develop strong relationships with event team and other cross functional teams
  • Develop strong relationships across marketing and other functional teams.
  • Collaborate and work with supporting event agencies to ensure comprehension of Splunk’s event strategy and analytics.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event marketing role in the technology sector (software industry experience preferred), with at least 3 years of marketing development/programming focus, product marketing or similar
  • Proven experience with event program and communications development for 1000+ person events
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, set priorities, work independently, problem solve, improvise and function as part of a team that must perform under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate and develop positive business relationships with all cross-functional peers and stakeholders (many of whom are geographically dispersed)
  • Diplomacy, integrity and presence that enables you to work effectively at all levels within a large organization
  • Enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication, writing, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and proven success at meeting deadlines
  • On-site and virtual event experience mandatory

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation, and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $50.00 - 68.75 per hour

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $45.38 - 62.40 per hour

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $40.77 - 56.06 per hour
