Sr. Engineer, Risk Remediation (Security Trust Office) - US Remote Available

About the role:

Splunk Global Security (SGS) is growing our Security Trust Office and Risk Management program, and we are looking for a Senior Engineer, Technical Risk Remediation. You will serve as a technical expert who partners with engineering teams across Splunk to design solutions that will mitigate critical product and business related technical risks. Maintaining positive relationships with technical leaders across Splunk is fundamental to the success of this role. You have experience in an engineering capacity, such as cybersecurity, software or architecture engineering, applying your background to drive the reduction of risk across Splunk.

Responsibilities include:

  • Technical subject matter expert partnering with engineering to design technical solutions to help remediate cybersecurity risks across Splunk
  • Mentor and technical lead for junior members of the Risk team
  • Maintain strong cross company working relationships with individuals and business units
  • Build and facilitate technical risk assessment exercises
  • Prepare and present risk findings to technical audiences within Splunk
  • Researching and interpreting industry standards, along with interpreting impact of requirements from governing authorities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Professional certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, GIAC, CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CISA, etc.
  • 4-6+ years of professional experience in a security engineering or risk remediation role
  • Experience with Splunk products a plus!
  • Intermediate experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Golang, etc.
  • Experience building risk management programs and/or continuous improvement of a cloud first environment
  • Demonstrable technical engineering experience
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, including risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF/RMF, ISO2700x/31000) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location.  The base pay for this position is dependent on work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus and benefits, and may be eligible for equity.  

Base Pay Range 

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range:  $156,000 - 214,500 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range:  $146,400 - 201,300 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range:  $132,800 - 182,600 per year
