Sr Director, Vertical Marketing

We are looking for a Senior Director of Vertical Marketing to lead the strategy, design and delivery of programs that will scale customer awareness, preference and loyalty. Are you a leader with a proven track record in driving customer intimacy programs and creating sustained demand across strategic accounts? Do you have a passion for industry storytelling and excel in creating memorable customer experiences? In this role you will be responsible for scaling Splunk’s vertical marketing program globally, partnering with our sales, marketing and customer success teams to bring the next generation of our customer-centric marketing program to life. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Set the strategy, deliver, and optimize a global multi-channel Vertical Marketing program to support relationship and revenue expansion that extends the value in our current customer base
  • Design and deliver industry-based marketing programs in partnership with sales executives and field marketing teams to drive use case adoption within strategic accounts. 
  • Develop industry-based content targeted to various personas and mapped to the buyer’s journey. Guide team to execute using the right mix of digital and field marketing activities.
  • Leverage account-based data and technology to help our marketing and sales teams attract, engage, convert, and grow strategic accounts
  • Develop robust project planning for strategic account campaigns, sales readiness, targeting and list acquisition, email/digital marketing strategy, events, tracking and measurement.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing operations on developing the appropriate marketing metrics for these accounts, including account engagement, lead generation, service adoption, pipeline contribution, and ROI of our marketing efforts 
  • Manage overall programs budget and work with cross-functional digital marketing and events team members to execute campaigns.
  • Communicate effectively and often with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment. Publish frequent program updates and metrics to share performance trends and insights.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing Vertical Marketing programs - from thought leadership to acquiring new logos, expanding account footprint, increasing wallet-share and driving cross-sell/upsell opportunities
  • 15+ years of experience in B2B Vertical Marketing in a mid to large size enterprise software company. 
  • Ability to build, develop, and elevate high-performing teams and nurture strong stakeholder relationships
  • Passion for understanding key buyer personas to identify the optimal paths for communicating and engaging customers throughout the buyer’s journey
  • Understanding of Partner Marketing strategies, partner ecosystems, and value of strategic alliances
  • Experience using Intent Data throughout the funnel, including MarTech solutions such as Demand Base, 6Sense, ZoomInfo, Drift, Marketo
  • Expertise in understanding data, telling stories, and executing across channels to create a customer-focused experience 
  • Creative, curious and resourceful is designing and delivering differentiated experiences for customers
  • Analytical and data-driven  with the ability to track and report on long-term and integrated campaign performance metrics as well as lagging revenue attribution, revenue influence and ROI

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $228,000.00 - 313,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $211,200.00 - 290,400.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $190,400.00 - 261,800.00 per year
