Sr Accountant, Corporate Accounting

We are seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join our global Accounting team. This role will collaborate with accounting and finance teams globally to support monthly close, ensure accurate and timely financial statements, and to improve processes supporting the global financial closes and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting and excellent communication skills. The Senior Accountant role will report directly to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and will work with the rest of the Accounting team globally to ensure efficient and timely operations of the accounting function.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility, which could include accruals, fixed assets, prepaids or other close areas
  • Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures in the course of the monthly and quarterly close procedures including support of SEC reporting and departmental close packages, including financial reporting reconciliations, analytics and efficiency metrics
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures and assist in SOX implementation
  • Assist in resolution of any accounting and internal control issues related to GL accounting operations
  • Implement process changes and best practices for general ledger reporting
  • Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members in delivering high quality, decision ready information to our business partners wherever needed
  • Perform special purpose or ad hoc analyses as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years relevant professional experience is required (mix of public and private experience preferred)
  • CPA is Preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting and SOX
  • Strong analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills
  • High degree of dedication to improvement and strong sense of ownership
  • Initiative to implement changers and curiosity to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Team player, have ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges in a rapidly-growing and dynamic environment
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with management, team, peers, cross-functional teams and business partners
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel (vlookups & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)
  • Prior software or technology industry experience is preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred or experience with other global financial systems

Base Pay Range

Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 16,800,000.00 - 26,400,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
