Splunk is seeking a strong operations leader to drive the operational excellence and systems integration behind our app and developer ecosystem. The Splunk app ecosystem (Splunkbase) is the primary driving force in how Splunk customers collect, analyze, and ultimately get value from their data and thus Splunk. This leader will be a visionary in orchestrating backend systems, with an eye for the external user/developer experience. They will work closely with the product management, engineering, marketing and IT teams to ensure industry best practices are adopted.

You are organized, positive, creative, analytical, and focused on the customer and partners at all times. You know when to make decisions and when to ask questions. This is an execution-focused role: You maintain a strong long-term vision that aligns with the product strategy. At the same time, you are committed to improving the user experience every step of the way. This requires a customer-focused product management professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of success.

What you'll do: Yeah, I want to and can do that.

  • Define requirements, from an operational perspective to power the management of our ecosystem
  • Work with product and engineering teams to define and own compliance conditions for app/solution publication on Splunkbase
  • Design workflows to support developers across the app lifecycle, from account signup to publication to monetization
  • Build at “360 degree view of the developer”
  • Operationalize the provisioning and management of developer test environments
  • Define and own ‘ecosystem compliance’ from our app developers and their solutions. You will be the gatekeeper and guardian of our ecosystem

Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!

  • 5+ years of experience in product operations, product management, product strategy or similar role
  • Experience designing and deploying software to support business programs and product launches
  • Data Analytics: You must be able to parse all of our telemetry to showcase patterns and areas for optimization
  • Familiarity with app development journey and marketplaces
  • Demonstrated success with developing and deploying process improvement and workflow enhancements that result in streamlined operations.
  • Must have the ability to promote collaboration and proactively communicate with different stakeholders to drive alignment with strategic initiatives and hold teams accountable.

Preferred knowledge and experience: These are a huge plus.

  • Experience with SaaS app marketplaces and partner programs (e.g. Salesforce AppExchange, AWS Marketplace)
  • Financial acumen to develop and manage pricing strategies that project and optimize
  • Experience working with Finance to formulate programs that effectively drive desired behaviors and align with business financial objectives.
  • Experience working with Product Managers to deliver requirements that support optimization of workflow and operational processes.
  • Experience with the development of risk management processes designed to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

Education: Got it!

MBA preferred.

What We Offer You: Wow, I want that.

  • A constant stream of new things for you to learn. We're always expanding into new areas, bringing in open source projects and contributing back, and exploring new technologies.
  • A set of extraordinarily hardworking, innovative, open, fun and dedicated peers, all the way from engineering and QA to product management and customer support.
  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation.
  • A stable, collaborative and supportive work environment.

We don't expect people to work 12 hour days. We want you to have a successful time outside of work too. Want to work from home sometimes? No problem. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and dedication and believe that balance helps cultivate an extraordinary environment
