The Mission Control Engineering team at Splunk in Vancouver is responsible for the Plugins framework which enable extension of Mission control functionality. We are looking for smart, high-energy, and diligent students to join our team. If you want to make a lasting impact on our Development team, this is the internship for you. Over the course of 4 to 8 months, you will receive hands-on experience, be exposed to different facets of the business, learn new technologies, and have fun while doing so. You will also contribute directly to the production codebase by doing development work in new features. If this gets you excited in your bones, apply today.

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified?

Splunk is looking for highly motivated college students to join our team this summer. As an intern (Splunktern), you will work on real projects that go to market. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment. You will have the opportunity to focus on full-stack, backend or front-end technologies.

  • You are a college student with at least 2 years of university-level Computer Science education
  • You have experience building web applications: in a class, as a personal hobby, as a job, as part of an open source project
  • You enjoy working well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • You enjoy working within an agile environment

Good to have:

  • Experience working in a commercial or open source software development team
  • Experience working with any of the following frontend JavaScript technologies: jQuery, Backbone, React/Redux, etc.
  • Experience with Python, Java or Go
  • Experience using docker, Kubernetes, or public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Experience with Splunk products is a plus!
