Splunk Ideas Program Analyst - Field Product Management

As a Program Analyst in Field Product Management, you will be responsible for providing key operational support for Splunk Ideas, our Enhancement Request platform for the Entire Splunk Portfolio. Splunk Ideas improves customer satisfaction by amplifying our communities' voices and increasing transparency into our feature development planning. Your contributions will ensure the integrity of the Ideas platform, and empower Product Managers and Leadership to make data-driven decisions that impact feature development, roadmap planning, resource allocation, and initiative alignment. You will maintain the health of a variety of data sources including multiple customer feedback channels and software and roadmap development products. and leverage contextual data like account firmographics, and product telemetry to develop analytic dashboards that streamline Product Management workflows and enable our Field organizations to track and communicate feature delivery expectations to their accounts. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to review and triage a selection of Top Ideas across the portfolio, ensuring their readiness for PM consideration, and shepherding them through their lifecycle, in order to meet the timeline expectations of our customers and Field teams.

This role will be part of the Field Product Management team, which works closely with all Product Managers across the entire Splunk portfolio, and equips Field teams with resources to improve transparency into our planning and set appropriate customer expectations. Since its launch in early 2020, thousands of customers have contributed over 60,000 votes and 1,000 comments across 2700 requests for enhancement.

Preferred location: this position can be based anywhere in the US.


  • Review monthly Top Ideas to ensure they are ready for Product Managements’ prioritization and shepherd them through the planning and development lifecycles.
  • Develop capabilities and processes to monitor data integrity and quality in support of the Ideas Platform and other Voice of the Customer initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain analytic dashboards and reports for Product Management, Leadership, and Field teams, marrying product roadmap and development data with customer insights.
  • Analyze existing reports and workflows and find opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain API-based tools for interacting with related products and data sources
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement workflows for internal uses of the Ideas platform
  • Obtain & maintain proficiency of all Splunk GA Products and capabilities.


  • Experience participating in and delivering process improvements
  • Experience with, or knowledge of data-platform product capabilities (Meaningful experience with Splunk products is highly preferred)
  • Must be organized and process-driven
  • Ability to accurately compile and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Preferred Technical background: Either bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent Software Development experience.
  • Solid interpersonal and organizational skills needed to communicate with customers and partner with product managers and ensure they follow defined workflows in a timely manner.
