Team: Join our internationally diverse group as a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), where collaboration, passion for data, and a curiosity about problem-solving come together. Dive into crafting impactful customer demo platforms, uncovering data insights, and designing solutions that enhance data value for business partners and customers.

You: As a FDSE in our Global Shared Services team, you'll play a key role in enhancing our serverless demo platforms and crafting swift, customer-centric solutions. You'll contribute to customer strategy development, provide technical insights for architectural and design initiatives, and drive innovation. Join a dynamic team known for self-motivation, continuous learning, and collective success, where exchanging knowledge and scaling solutions are part of our ethos. You’ll also be instrumental in developing and delivering Splunk products and integrations to our customers and internal partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Build Splunk Demo Platform and build integrations to improve Splunk's market position.
  • Passion/Grit/Will: You are passionate about everything software and product development and enjoy continuous learning while demonstrating strong dedication to help grow others around you.
  • Cross-functional: Collaborate optimally across functions, including product management, engineering, and sales, to identify strategic partnerships and improve Splunk product offerings. Lead Scrum meetings and groom product stories in Jira.
  • Drive innovation through research, collaborative coding, meticulous documentation, and sharing your work via open source contributions, Splunk store publications, and industry events.
  • Talk is cheap, show me the code: Creatively articulate Splunk solutions to customers, partners, and developer community. Develop and publish Splunk integrations such as Apps, Playbooks, or Add-ons.
  • Develop top-tier Splunk SaaS platform and Apps by engaging customers, encouraging partnerships, and crafting and sharing innovative integrations that embody our dedication to customer-led innovation and community involvement.

Must Have

  • 3+ years of experience in architecting and delivering SaaS solutions.
  • Proficiency in backend (Python, NoSQL) and/or frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Next.js/React).
  • Context Switching: Enjoy building both mature long-term production-grade and short-term MVP-level software development.
  • Experience in a Lean Agile environment, underpinned by strong self-motivation and a commitment to teamwork driven by determination and enthusiasm.
  • Phenomenal teamwork skills, capable of collaborating with global teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience with RESTful API design and querying.
  • Love automating mundane tasks and have familiarity with CI/CD tooling.
  • Knowledge in Cloud Provider services (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and Cloud Native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, or Serverless).
  • Familiarity with DevOps, IT, Security landscapes, and experience working with large-scale technical environments.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of database, security, networking, or enterprise application architectures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC components, including deployment stages, software versioning, and modern continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g., Github Actions, Gitlab CI).
  • Good understanding of *nix command-line tools and pair-programming.
  • Active contributor to open-source communities and excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Creative proficiency in UI/UX design is a plus, with skills in tools like Typography, Illustrator or Sketch.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Base Pay Range

India

Base Pay: INR 2,000,000.00 - 2,750,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
