As a Software Engineer on Splunk On-Call, you will craft, develop and support highly scalable, real-time notification and collaboration services that support thousands of organizations. As a member of the team you will be responsible for the complete development of new features that support on-call engineers all over the world. You will collaborate with our Product team to understand how our customers use Splunk On-Call in order to help drive new features.

As a front-end developer on Splunk On-Call, you will work cross functionality and with your team in building and deploying meaningful features to make on-call easier for all of our users. The technical stack is in React, Backbone, & Node.jS. You will build, maintain, and ensure quality across multiple web applications managing your own CI pipeline.

You will work closely with the product, design, and support teams to quickly iterate on customer needs while improving the overall architecture. We are looking to deliver enterprise solutions around enhanced integrations, scalable team support, and improved alert engines.

Experience Required

  • Software Development and Data Structures/Algorithms. We code primarily in JavaScript and TypeScript, and experience with RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of Frontend Frameworks. We use React.JS and Backbone.JS
  • Knowledge of technical excellence. You know continuous delivery, testing, security practices, performance, and disaster recovery.
  • Problem Solving. You are able to fix a product outage, skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, spotting anomalous system behavior, and figuring out the root cause of incidents.
  • Desire to learn and adapt. Our team has many projects going on at once, and you'll have the opportunity to learn to navigate new code and features.
  • Passion. We want you to actively own your work and be excited about your projects.
  • Customer Focus - Enjoyment of helping customers and implement solutions to improve their workflows.
  • Understanding of best testing practices - We use Jest, Selenium and other monitoring tools.

Nice to haves

  • Kubernetes and/or Docker experience. Working in Kubernetes systems with experience in kubectl and docker containers.
  • Terraform experience. Any prior work with Terraform is a plus.
  • AWS experience. Knowledge of Amazon EC2 including machine image management and storage, as well as an understanding of Amazon EC2 regional centers, availability zones, and HA strategies
  • Understanding of Databases. We use MySQL, CassandraDB.
  • Knowledge of Apache. We use Akka, Solr and more

Note:

Base Pay Range

India

Base Pay: INR 2,240,000.00 - 3,080,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
