Role
As a Software Engineer in Test, the responsibilities include designing, documenting, executing, and automating tests to effectively and efficiently test features in development. You will be expected to deliver automated, reliable, resilient, and extensible solutions to enhance and evolve our testing strategies and capabilities, and continually improve our testing infrastructure for cloud offerings
Responsibilities
Review and understand PRD and ERD and create/review test plan and test cases, which may map use cases from PRD and ERD and provide quality coverage.
Competent in developing automated tests for testing Splunk's backend, front-end interfaces, and full stack.
Refactor existing tests and add new feature automation.
Use existing automation frameworks and testing tools.
Create proper defects in JIRA with detailed steps and promptly verify and validate once fixed.
Understand the overall product and has mastery of feature areas per detailed functional, integration testing perspective.
Receive guidance and technical mentoring from senior team members and open to accepts feedback graciously.
Be an effective team member, provide constructive feedback to improve quality, and communicate effectively.
Manage multiple competing priorities to assess the risk and ensure the quality. Also Learning and participates in estimating sprint sized software deliverables.
Requirements
Passionate at quality engineering and Splunk.
Understanding of micro-services.
Experience in at least one programing language, such as Python (most preferred), Go, Java, Ruby, Perl, or C++. With SCM experience using Git solutions (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab).
Experience in test automation framework using Pytest, Selenium WebDriver, or any Go testing framework (e.g. Ginkgo).
Basic system administration on at least one platform, Linux or Windows.
Experience in setting up and working on Cloud distributed systems and solutions like AWS Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and any container orchestration system/solution.
Experience in DevOps and CI/CD related technologies.
Effectively communicates within the team, and contributes effectively to the success of those that they interact with regularly.
BS EE or CS degree with 2 + years related experience or Masters.
