Software Engineer - Experience Services Backend - US-Remote

Role:

If so, Splunk is looking for experienced Software Engineers to join the team building the flagship experience of our next generation cloud platform. You will have significant influence on engineering the backend systems that will make the experience come to life.

Responsibilities:

  • While you can work from any Splunk office, or be remote, this team’s working hours are in the PT timezone, and you’ll be expected to have your working hours line up with that.
  • Build backend services and microservices that will power the next generation flagship experience.
  • Implement features that use innovative technologies, open-source initiatives, and third-party services.
  • Create, enhance and encourage robust test suites for all code, because you recognize the value of automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Integrate metrics and service level indicators into features and services you build so that you can monitor, improve, and scale out services horizontally.
  • Provide on-call production support for your features and applications.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience on modern cloud native platforms.
  • Strong communication and comprehension skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with either Go, JavaScript, or Python for building backend services.
  • An eye for developing thoughtfully designed REST APIs for developer efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and storage with NoSQL and RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

Nice to have:

  • BS Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Exposure to Splunk or a similar analytics solution.
  • Understanding of structure, security, and load distribution for multi-tenant software systems.
