Software Engineer - Developer Platform Infrastructure

The Developer Platform Infrastructure organization is looking for a software engineer to build the next generation platform for building, testing, and deploying Splunk product software at scale. We focus on high level of automation and distributed systems to enable Splunk engineering with expedient and scalable services. 


  • Develop backend systems for platform and infrastructure services.
  • Build robust, fault-tolerant distributed systems in a containerized environment 
  • Analyze and improve CI processes and experience across the company. 
  • Operate with data including data collection, telemetry, data analysis, and driving actions.
  • Ownership. We strongly believe and exercise engineering ownership. As an owner, you are responsible for the entire lifecycle of an engineering service. 

What you provide

  • 2-4+ years of meaningful software engineering experience.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
  • Experience developing in languages like Python or Go
  • Have a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design/implementation.
  • Experience with containerization technology such as Kubernetes, Docker, and UCP.
  • Experience working with Public Cloud offering such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience working with modern CI systems such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Bitbucket, CircleCI, etc. is a plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow through solving hard problems.
