The Splunk Observability Cloud provides full-fidelity monitoring and fixing across infrastructure, applications, and user interfaces, in real-time and at any scale, to help our customers keep their services reliable, innovate faster, and deliver great customer experiences. Infrastructure Software Engineers at Splunk are cloud-native systems engineers who use infrastructure-as-code, microservices, automation, and efficient design to build, operate, and scale our products.

Role

You will be part of a small but mighty team that serves as the first point of contact for customer escalations of issues into engineering. The ideal candidate should have the technical curiosity and experience vital to understanding our Observability product from end to end. You'll be working with our support, engineering, and sales teams on behalf of our customer base, so a passion for customer advocacy is essential. You can expect to be dealing with a wide range of complex and rewarding problems on a daily basis.

You will:

  • Debug complex systems and environments and isolate issues.
  • Develop tools that help debug, reproduce, and validate specific issues.
  • Understand the overall product and have proficiency in different feature areas.
  • Formulate workarounds for complex issues that have major customer impacts and require significant engineering resources.
  • Design and implement features and generate reports that help the sales team to win new accounts.
  • Provides best practice guidelines to internal and external users.
  • Manage customer expectations to align with engineering priorities.

What we look for

  • Excellent problem-solving, triaging, and debugging skills in large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience handling SaaS applications for a large customer base.
  • Passionate about building elegant and powerful tools to solve customer problems.
  • Experience with scripting using Python and/or bash scripting.
  • Knowledge of microservices fundamentals including Service Mesh using Istio, service discovery, deployment strategies, monitoring, scheduling, and load balancing
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.

Preferred:

Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Base Pay Range

Poland

Base Pay: PLN 168,000.00 - 231,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
