Senior TechOps Engineering Manager

Join us on the Splunk TechOps Team, empowering our customers to execute our vision making machine data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone! The Splunk TechOps organization runs Splunk cloud, blending SRE, Systems Engineering and Service Engineering disciplines, across functional global teams.  As a Sr. TechOps Engineering Manager, you will manage a global organization that configures and maintains our customer-facing SaaS product, Splunk Cloud. You should have experience with architecture, deployments, and networking in one or more of the major industry vendors. This is an incredible opportunity to use your existing cloud experience and drive the growth of Splunk Cloud.

About the Role:

Splunk’s TechOps organization is looking for a senior leader to drive Splunk’s TechOps FedRamp/GovCloud organization. This individual is passionate about delivering a best in class service to all of Splunk’s customers and will be responsible for the day to day operations of its global located TechOps organization. This position is located in McLean Virginia. 

About You:

  • Someone who runs towards a fire and has built and run Operations organizations at scale
  • Meticulous about delivering a fantastic end user customer experience
  • Passionate about building and running distributed systems at scale in production. You understand the challenges and trade-offs to be made when building and deploying systems to production.
  • Is never satisfied with the status quo; Constantly asking "How can I improve this process?"
  • Have experience managing and building a global organization
  • Passionate about the development of your teams careers


  • Envision, Plan, Develop, and Execute organizational roadmap for FedRamp/GovCloud organization
  • Work across organizations to deliver quality service that delight Splunk’s passionate user base
  • Lead teams of tight-knit engineers who are the lifeblood of Splunk Cloud
  • Mentor and help new engineers to achieve more than thought possible


  • Proven ability to deliver, measure, and manage high-growth systems, hitting high availability targets
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work collaboratively across functions
  • Have experience running a 24x7 organization with engineers on-call
  • Have experience driving an engineering organization through change, incident, and problem management
  • Experience running a multi cluster/cloud environment and a strong understanding of operations
  • Strong level of business acumen and comfortable working with senior executives
  • US citizenship is required
