Role:
We are seeking a Front End Software Engineer to join our team, Customer Managed Platform. Ours is a globally distributed engineering team that develops and continually improves Splunk Enterprise, Splunk's core offering that collects and analyses high volumes of machine-generated data. We ensure code hygiene, use open source libraries, employ continuous integration and delivery, and have a strong belief in automated testing at multiple levels (unit, integration, system). We rely on daily stand-ups to facilitate communication and get help when needed. Join us if you are someone who shares our passion and want to be part of our future success. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve web based user interfaces (UIs)
- Work closely with UX designers, project managers, and back-end engineers to implement versatile front-end solutions to web development issues.
- Engage in design and code reviews of the product, and leverage your knowledge of customers’ experiences to dedicatedly prevent future problems.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience as a front end engineer with preferred BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical work experience
- Experience in groundbreaking web technologies (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, TypeScript), Application Servers, Web Applications
- Development experience with large-scale SaaS Web Application and full-stack systems
- Experience developing User Interface (UI) with JavaScript development frameworks (e.g. Angular, React). Exposure to modern web frameworks such as React.js is a plus
- Strong sense of web design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience.
- Experience in JavaScript, and one or more programming languages such as Python.
- Good understanding of RESTful Web services
- Understand the principles of accessibility and can build products that are accessible to users with disabilities.
- Experience with unit testing, CI/CD frameworks and integration process workflows (e.g. Gitlab, SVN, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins/Bamboo, Codeship)
- Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
